Media & Communications Officer

 

Full time-Service Contract with possibility extension, Jakarta based, 1 (One) Position.

Currently RutgersWPF Indonesia is looking for enthusiastic candidates for the following position and who are interested in working on SRHR issues and who are available on short notice:

Position Summary:

The Media & Communication Officer is based in Jakarta and reports directly to the ME & Knowledge Management Manager and will work closely with the Project Officers in Rutgers Indonesia and Communication team in Rutgers Netherland. The position duties include supervise the Website officer in Rutgers Indonesia. S/He works closely with all projects staffs to draft communication materials and effectively communicate Rutgers approaches, activities, outputs, and impact. Specific responsibilities of the Media and communication officer include but are not limited to:

  • Design, execute, and refine Rutgers’s communication strategy to support an evidenced-based SRHR and SGBV approaches.

  • Support all Rutgers program as it engages and develop partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Document and effectively communicate partnership activities, including participatory design and co-investment in local solutions.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of technical assistance to partners.

  • Together with ME&KM Manager ensure all communication materials and reporting complies with the Rutgers Branding and Marking Plan.

  • Together with resource mobilization team, develop a resource mobilization plan for Rutgers Indonesia and assist to implement

  • Contribute significantly to the preparation and implementation of national and subnational events.

  • Manage all external media relations including websites.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Country Representative that are consistent with the overall focus of the project.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relation, public health, international law, political science, communication and other social and humanity studies, or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.

  • At least 5 years of related experience and demonstrated ability to design communication strategies and products, and manage media outreach activities.

  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external audiences through traditional and new media outlets.

  • Experience using both qualitative and quantitative methods for communications, such as media content analyses, stakeholder and issues mappings, market assessments, perception/stakeholder audits, and communications audits.

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing media relations

  • Demonstrated experience drafting high-quality project reports press releases

  • Demonstrated experience organizing and managing public events, such as press conferences, workshops, and meetings with high visibility.

  • Experience working with media and government, private sector, nongovernmental organizations, donors, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Experience working in political campaigns, advocacy campaigns, private sector, marketing a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

PROGRAM OFFICER OF PREVENTION+

Position Summary:

The PO is based in Jakarta and reports directly to the Program Manager of Prevention+.  The position roles include as grant manager for four implementing partners working under Prevention+ Program. Specific responsibilities of the Project officer include but are not limited to:

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are:

  1. To assist in developing work plans and budgets along with the Program Manager;

  2. Together with the Program Manager monitors the implementation of the program by partner organizations on an ongoing basis;

  3. To support Program Manager in monitoring and analyzing results both quantitative and qualitative;

  4. Together with Program Manager identify and evaluate potential risks related to the activity of the program and take necessary steps to improve;

  5. Communicate closely with Program Managers, Program Team, PMEL team, and Finance Team on results an analysis of results program performance;

  6. To support Program Manager in providing technical assistance to partner organizations regarding the implementation of the program,

  7. Ensure all partner’s plan are in line with program result chain formulated;

  8. Perform other tasks to achieve program results with the direction and coordination of the Program Manager, ie :

  1. Have strong experiences in formulate workplan, TORs, and report documents as well as analyse those documents from partners or third parties and provide feedback for them.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in health / public health / education; and/or other social science.

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Gender, community empowerment issues, and development program, Experience in Male Involvement is advantage.

  • Good working knowledge of result-based management,

  • Understanding of ddevelopment issues and program.

  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English (verbal and written)
